[edit] What's the weather like in Holland right now?

Just kinda wondering...

Mostly hot, with the odd thunderstorm; it seems to be fading already, and as I'm looking out my window now the sky is gray and overcast (but it's still warm). It'll probably all go to hell soon enough.
How's Houston doing, then? 82.92.119.11 2 July 2005 12:40 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Monty Hall problem

Very nice edit but I'll bet that some will continue to argue. What's that quote... "Never argue with someone who knows he's right." Regards. hydnjo talk 20:47, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

It's quite possible the Monty Hall talk page will be forever burdened by people who either don't get it or are fixated on the "right" interpretation and "know" all the rest must be a red herring... It's actually not Wikipedia's job to serve as a discussion forum for debunking such ideas over and over again, but it's probably unavoidable. :-) 82.92.119.11 20:51, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
I know, I know. But it feels so good on those rare occasions to educate someone with a wrong-headed perpective. The million door example may just do that for someone. hydnjo talk 21:01, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nice to see you

Sorry I had to delete some of the award images. The copyvio cops made me do it! :-( Bishonen | talk 01:10, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Octopuses

Quoting from the article you cited " Merriam-Webster and other dictionaries accept octopi as a plural form. The Oxford English Dictionary lists octopuses, octopi, and octopodes (the order reflecting decreasing frequency of use), stating that the last form is rare. " So both forms are correct then.--Zxcvbnm 01:37, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Well sorry then, you didn't vandalize--Zxcvbnm 02:11, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pac-Man

Thank you for experimenting with the page Pac-Man on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. This illustrates the danger of automated tools; they don't leave you time to check someone's credibility anymore. If the vandal fighter above had checked my contribution history, he might have reevaluated my edit. On the other hand, had I used an account, my edit would likely have gone unnoticed in the first place. Win some, lose some... 82.92.119.11 22:07, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I did check your contribution history. I've added my revert as a mistake - don't be too presumptuous about doubting my RC patrol ability, we all make mistakes, but I don't just target anonymous users out of habit otherwise we wouldn't have an encyclopedia. The paragraph sounded like it was describing how to win, and "to wit" is a total archaism. Hope this clears things up --Knucmo2 22:10, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
If you checked my contribution history I really don't get it, though; why would someone with no history of vandalism do something as silly as changing a single letter by way of "testing"? This still sounds like a case of tools gone wrong to me, because if your intent was to undo my edit as simply wrong, the message left on my talk page is completely inappropriate.
That said, I'm not exactly upset about this rather trivial affair, you just took me by surprise. I'm pretty sure you've done more for the encyclopedia today than I have.
I'd say I'm sorry, but we'd be in serious danger of sounding like Dr. Strangelove: "I'm sorry, too, Dimitri. ... I'm very sorry. ... All right, you're sorrier than I am, but I am as sorry as well. ... I am as sorry as you are, Dimitri! Don't say that you're more sorry than I am, because I'm capable of being just as sorry as you are. ... So we're both sorry, all right?! ... All right." 82.92.119.11 22:20, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Captain Planet and the Planeteers

Please refrain from removing content from Wikipedia, as you did to Captain Planet and the Planeteers. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Nope, it's not vandalism if you explain it on the talk page. I don't know of an option to put warnings in a new section. --David.Mestel 10:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
