Thanks for your effort at fixing the Invasion article and for your note on the talk page. Because the article of the day is the first article many people see when they arrive at Wikipedia, it tends to attract a high volume of childish vandalism. For that reason, a lot of regular editors keep an eye on the article and are quick to remove any vandalism as soon as it comes up. That's most likely the reason you weren't able to fix the page; someone had fixed it already. By the time the edit page loaded in your browser, the fix had already gone through.
