[edit] The name
The first one of the 7DX parties was held in 2002, hence the party took its name from the hexadecimal equivalent of the number 2002, which is $7D2. Each year, with another 7DX party, the last number in the name increased by one. Because of the last number's variability, the founders of the party eventually decided to place an X there instead, which works around the constant change.
[edit] First steps
As mentioned above, 7DX was first held in 2002. It took place between May 4-5, 2002 in the Kadikoy Netart Computer - Techuilla Software office. About 40 sceners attended the party. In the meantime, with this small amount of sceners a new demo party was born, which is still happening annually.
