"7 Continents for 7 Koopas" is the twenty-second episode of Super Mario Bros. 3.
[edit] Synopsis
Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach are about to enjoy a nice swim when they see the Doomship, which is suffering from a radiator leak, and they dive into the water to avoid being seen. Bowser orders the Koopalings to draw water from the lake; they do just that, accidentally sucking Peach up with the water. Having saved his Doomship from overheating, Bowser orders his kids to report to the control room, and Peach, unnoticed by the Koopas, follows them and eavesdrops. Bowser flies the Doomship to Earth, after which Ludwig activates the Koopa Klogger, a device that, as the Mario Bros. and Toad soon find out, prevents them from following the Doomship through the pipe it went through. Bowser then assigns and sends the Koopalings to take over the seven continents in a divide-and-conquer style not unlike their takeovers in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World:
- Roy paints grafitti on the Great Wall of China.
- Ludwig turns all the animals of Africa into stuffed animals.
- Larry transforms all the humans in Australia into kangaroos, with the exception of a man similar to Crocodile Dundee, whom he turns into a shrimp.
- Morton builds an abominable snowman with which to terrorize Antarctica's penguins.
- Wendy transforms all the paintings and statues in the Louvre so that she is the featured subject in all of them.
- Lemmy takes over all of North America's television stations and hosts his own telethon, demanding all the viewers to give him their money.
- Iggy turns the Amazon Forest into a parking lot.
Back onboard the Doomship, Peach attempts to turn off the Koopa Klogger, but Bowser catches her in the act and has a Chain Chomp tie her up. She manages to break loose, though, by annoying a nearby Bob-Omb into exploding, but not before she throws it at the Koopa Klogger, destroying it. Now able to use the warp pipes, the Marios and Toad join her in foiling the Koopalings' exploits, forcing them and Bowser to retreat back to the Mushroom World.
[edit] Trivia/Goofs
- The episode's title comes from the play Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
- When he and the Marios resurface, Toad seems to shout "Frog Princess Toadstool's been Koopnapped!", despite the obvious fact that Peach wasn't wearing a Frog Suit.
- When Bowser tells Lemmy to take over North America, Iggy follows him out of the room. But he is still there for Bowser to tell him to take over South America.
- During the scene where Peach destroys the Koopa Klogger and grabs a parachute from the floor (which came out of nowhere), there's a cloud with eyes in the background, even though this is taking place on Earth.
- Look at the scene where Princess grabs Larry's wand. She's wearing her bathing suit for the entire episode, but we see the big white puffy sleeve from her regular dress! To make matters worse, Larry's face is orange--again!
- After Mario takes Iggy's wand, Iggy climbs up a tree, but in the close up of him in the tree, he is now Lemmy!
- When we first see Morton in Antarctica, the back of his head is the same color as his skin, and to make matters worse, his shell is pink!
- When Ludwig is running from the wild animals, his entire face turns orange!
- When the Doomship monitor show Larry in Australia, his face turns orange until he turns a man into a shrimp!
- When Bowser reacts to see the Koopalings on screen, the Antartica screen has Peach was in her regular clothes instead of her swimsuit.
