79th Street is a station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 79th Street and Broadway on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, it is served by the 1 train (all times), and by the 2 train (late nights).

Typical of many local stations on this line, there is no crossover or crossunder. Northbound passengers must enter on the east side of Broadway, and southbound passengers must enter on the west side of Broadway.

The station has not been renovated, and there is no artwork, but it is still in good condition. At this point on the line, the express tracks are slightly lower than the local tracks, especially at the north end.
