User talk:76.22.4.86

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FWIW, I've previously been welcomed at the (theoretically) static IPs:

24.29.35.187 'tools' contribs Talk (532 edits)
71.231.107.188 'tools' contribs Talk (1,397 edits)
24.18.215.132 'tools' contribs Talk (958 edits)
24.17.48.241 'tools' contribs Talk (3,133 edits) (didn't actually ever get welcomed at this IP {sniff})
'Tools' contribs for this IP (98 edits since I got assigned this IP 17:43, 8 February 2007)

That's in addition to the >25,000 edits dating back to February 2004 under my main, now inactive, username, and another >8,000 under my main username at Simple English Wikipedia. 76.22.4.86 19:12, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Most of this 'top of the page' stuff would be on my user page, but that would be a "new article" so I can't create it. To quote User:ONUnicorn/The problem with Wikipedia... AND the solution, "Oh, and we mustn't forget the Anons! They were forbidden to taste of the fruit of the Userpage." 76.22.4.86 01:13, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia from Elaragirl!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. Since you are new, I've taken the liberty of providing a few useful resources:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.

[edit] Alta California edits

I have reverted a recent edit you made to the article Alta California. You did not provide an edit summary, and I could not determine whether the edit was vandalism or a constructive contribution. In the future, please use edit summaries. Headers do not need de-capitalisation. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. EnglishEfternamntalkcontribs 00:11, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

A review of the edits shows that there was a valid edit summary which described what User:76.22.4.86 was doing on that edit; and the edit was completely in keeping with WP:MOS. — ERcheck (talk) 22:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mary I of Scotland

Hi. I'm not sure what you are referring to. The only edit I carried out in relation to "Rough Wooing" was to correct the spelling of the author's name and the formatting of the title. Deb 09:35, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry. I've found it now - didn't realise it was so far back. I can't explain that, and will restore the paragraph in question. Deb 09:39, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I can see now what I did. Because someone had vandalized the article before you came along, I went back to the version before the vandalism started (you can only roll-back one contributor's entries). What I didn't spot was that you had amended some of the vandalism and I had inadvertently removed your corrections as well. That was careless of me. Deb 09:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rickert

Could you please ref your update of the Rickert page --- how you know she is still alive & working as of 2007? Her web page which had not been updated for several years seems to be down now.--Jaibe 14:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nancy Cartwright

Currently there is a motion to change Nancy Cartwright from a general disambig to the content at Nancy Cartwright (actress) with only a disambig link for Nancy Cartwright (philosopher). When searching wikipedia for relevant links to either page, I noticed your comment on Cut_and_paste_move_repair_holding_pen, and so wanted to inform you of the discussion being raised at Talk:Nancy Cartwright. — Eric Herboso 05:49, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
