Unblock request

This is NOT an open proxy, nor is it a zombie computer, although it was a zombie computer about 5 months ago. Please unblock. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.50.208.4 (talkcontribs) 11:32, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Password reset attempt

Please see Wikipedia:Long term abuse/JarlaxleArtemis and ANI thread for more information.

Somebody at this IP address tried unsuccessfully to reset my password some 30 times on September 23rd.... I'm not sure what you think you are up to, but knock it off. DreamGuy 22:20, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Someone on October 5th did the same thing to me 35 times.--Andrew c 00:48, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah - they seem to have a habit of doing that. Luckily for me, gmail puts it all nicely in one little folder by default, so it's not much of a nuisance :). Cowman109Talk 01:05, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Same here, I have over 80 password reset requests from (69.50.208.4) in my inbox.--1568 06:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Just had more than 200 additional password reset requests from this idiot. Somebody needs to block him for asking for resets, or from Wikipedia completely or something, because this is ridiculous. DreamGuy 08:09, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I just recieved 218. Daniel.Bryant 08:16, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I recieved 76 such requests from this IP. NeoChaosX [talk | contribs] 09:03, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I had about 170.--Robbstrd 17:17, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

I've also received numerous password reset attempts from this IP over the last week. - Engineer Bob 18:14, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I just received 53 attempts from this IP. Is anyone planning on fixing this? I thought this user was banned.--Robbstrd 18:39, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I've had disagreements with this user shortly before he was banned. Anyone else suppose it could be him?--Robbstrd 19:01, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

And another 200 just in the last couple of hours... They have to know that this doesn't get them the password, I think it's just an attempt to flood our mailboxes as harassment. I'm going to try to report this elsewhere since this isn;t doing anything. DreamGuy 22:30, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I received another 20 on Oct 8.--1568 05:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I was flooded with password requests from this IP on 24 September. I received 469 of them until I blocked them at my remote mail server (thank you procmail). The probable culprit is User:JarlaxleArtemis. —Psychonaut 02:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Funny, that's who I thought it might be as well. Antandrus (talk) 00:35, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Another 125... and it could very well be JarlaxleArtemis, as I had removed some spam external links he placed on some articles... and it would be one of the few people who I would have upset recently while signed on, as I do most of my editing these days anonymously (of course there are still a number of people from the past trying to harass me, as seen with the fake names imitating mine posting to my own user page). DreamGuy 22:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

lol... I have over 40 in my inbox right now and they keep on coming.... Cbrown1023 01:40, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

120 more...... Cbrown1023 19:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

80 sent to me in one minute... Pete.Hurd 03:01, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Yet another 120 besides the 125 mentioned two messages up. DreamGuy 05:16, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I got over 60 in my mailbox today.--Húsönd 17:16, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
69.50.208.4 sent me several tens of password reminders between 19/10/06 03:28 and 03:29. --Error 23:40, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
8 reminders from less than one hour ago. --Error 00:46, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Me to. About 60 of them today. Harvestdancer 01:15, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmm... 116 for new password requests came from this IP to my e-mail. — Moe 02:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Yup, me too. I've had little interaction with banned users. Ashibaka tock 02:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

S/he's hitting me now - 70 attempts so far. Cnwb 07:44, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I've also been hit. Just checked my inbox and 45+ new emails. Kind of scary...--Hellogoodsir 09:15, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Joining the club. What can we do about this? ←Humus sapiens ну? 19:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Mediawiki already has a feature which restricts the number of times per hour/day that a password reminder can be requested. However, it's not enabled on Wikipedia. You can voice your concerns or vote for this issue at the Mediawiki Bugzilla (Bug 7078)Psychonaut 23:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

And another 110 emails or so today... Probably getting close to 1,000 total by now. DreamGuy 05:32, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

I received a couple dozen password change request e-mails that originated from this IP on the day I became an administrator. This behavior indicates the perpetrator intends to keep trying until they hijack an account that has a weak password. Suggest contacting the ISP and lodging a formal complaint. Durova 00:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Account suspended!

When I try to configure Firefox's proxy settings to connect through this IP, it gives me an account-suspended notice! I'd like to congratulate whoever notified the ISP of this. ~crazytales56297 O rly? Ya rly! 12:01, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
