Its very simple, Israel is not an artificial state because artificial states are those that are forced on the population by outside actors. For example, Iraq is an amalgamation of ethnic groups that hate each other and that have competing claims to certain parts like Kurdistan, but were nontheless encompassed due to a treaty by outside forces. Places like the Democratic Republic of Congo, where hundreds of ethnic groups have no connection to the state, or the various client states created during the Concert of Europe by treaty qualify as artificial states. Israel was created through a war of independence like many other countries, not through a treaty. Guy Montag 16:50, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
