Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Paid survey have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. Hello - in response to your message on my talk page, if you feel that the article is in bad shape, I encourage you to fix it by re-wording sections, adding illustrative pictures, etc. in order to improve it. However, external links should be added to articles very sparingly. Wikipedia has a real problem with spam right now due to its popularity, and as such has to take a tough stance against commercial and personal links.
Additionally, you didn't just add the link to the Paid survey article, you added the same link to 2 other articles. This is considered spamming and should be avoided.
However, If you truly think that the link is useful to a particular article, I encourage you to place the link on the article's talk page. This will allow other editors of the article to discuss the link and determine if it is useful to the article. If they agree with you that it's useful, the link then would have the weight of consensus behind it, and could then be re-added to the article.
I hope this helps further explain why I removed the links. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. --AbsolutDan (talk) 15:03, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
