Regarding Anne Bonny: I've moved your comment to Talk:Anne Bonny, as editorial comments are not supposed to be in the article itself. The discussion (talk) pages of articles are for precisely this purpose. -- Hadal 02:39, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- It's not "my" article; in fact, I haven't edited it at all save for the removal of your commentary. That's all I've tried to explain to you; editorial comments do not belong in articles. If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. You don't even need to log in, although there are several reasons why you might want to. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills. New contributors are always welcome. -- Hadal 03:03, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- What you're describing sounds like an internal fork, which isn't acceptable here. If you want to make changes—even major revisions which would leave the article nearly unrecognizable from its previous incarnation—I encourage you to work with what's already there, rather than try to supplant it with a second article. (Either work your information into the current article, or vice versa.) To answer your second question, there's no need to reference the previous version of the article if you use some of its information or text. -- Hadal 03:55, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your reply. I think at this point I’m going to contact someone else at Wiki just to clarify that the policy is either completely erase someone else’s article, or make changes to their article. I think in certain cases, such as the one I’m referring to, that the reader is better served by having two separate articles and allowing the reader to draw their own conclusion. I don’t know why your reply talks about making changes that would render the original article unrecognizable, or that a second article is “supplanting” anything, but I think it’s just better to get a second opinion on this matter at this point. I will pass on our Conversation and see where I can go from there.
