Welcome!

Hello, 68.193.163.234, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Now, down to business: I just removed something you wrote on the Magic (paranormal) page. I thought I should explain why, since you seem to be new here. First: there is already a section in that article about theories of how magic works. Secondly, The description you gave was very individual, and not reflective of general practice. I've never heard of using "pocket dimensions" before, and of course you're not going to kill yourself by concentrating too hard (that's me speaking as a witch, rather than a scholar, there). Thirdly, you signed your name at the end. You will notice that no other articles have people signing paragraphs like this (or they shouldn't). This is an encyclopedia, not a blog. The authors are basically anonymous, unless you want to dig into the edit histories of pages. There is no ego gratification here, only the gratification you get from seeing some good work you've done improve the encyclopedia a bit.

Now, I don't want to scare you off, but rather welcome you to Wikipedia. To make really good edits, you should read those links above - also you might think about signing in and getting a user name: There are several benefits and it helps you gain the trust of other editors. OK, good luck now. Fuzzypeg 07:08, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
