[edit] Gurnee, Illinois

Please don't copy and paste the same material to Gurnee, Illinois as is in Warren Township High School, unless it's better explained why it's appropriate for both articles. In most cases, it's far more appropriate to put the most detailed information in the smaller-scope article, and if it's really important, to summarize the information in a higher-level article. However, it's not clear to me that the information is particularly important (there are 10 schools that serve the Gurnee area, if we put the details of all of them in the Gurnee article, it would be far too large), so I've removed it again. Please discuss its importance at Talk:Gurnee, Illinois before re-adding it to that article. Thanks. --Interiot 22:19, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm new to this form of communication. Feel free to contact me at pattiannbryan@yahoo.com. Warren recently suffered a massive financial scandal. I know of no other local school that did. Clearly, the point of journalism includes making public affairs transparent. Warren also has serious trouble with the last three years of test scores. The dissemination of school report cards is a critical part of both federal and state education law.

I think it odd that you deleted the most documented and supported sections of the website while leaving the rest. Frankly, you seem to have eliminated all negative comment from the public view. This is directly contrary to the purpose of both journalism and educational law.

Your recent act was to eliminate the entire Warren Township High School entry rather than to permit it to be read with material to which you objected. In my opinion, this is the cyber-equivalent of book-burning.

Let me close with a question -- I am an amateur at this. Are you in the paid service of someone with a special interest in the website?

No, I'm not in the paid service of anyone. Everyone's edits are out in the open, if you look through mine, you'll see that I spend a large amount of time editing many different articles, most having nothing to do with Gurnee.
It may be better to discuss this at Talk:Warren Township High School, so others can join the discussion, but I'll answer your initial questions here.
I don't really have an opinion on the material you added. The information is still at Warren Township High School. My main issue is that the exact same content should not be added to two different articles. It belongs at Warren Township High School, since we have an article about that, and I don't see why it needs to be duplicated word-for-word at another page.
(the information was indeed removed by someone else earlier, click on the "History" tab there. As I said, it's probably best to take it up at Talk:Warren Township High School so they can discuss it as well).
One more thing to note... while you're free to revert the page to an earlier version when there are good reasons for doing so, please be sure to leave an edit summary when you revert, to explain the reason for reverting the page. For example, I made some janitorial changes to Warren Township High School, and you reverted them. It's not clear why... they didn't remove any of your text, but simply formatted it to be similar to our other articles... Please don't revert those changes again without explaining why the page needs to be reverted. --Interiot 02:19, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
