[edit] Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here, up to 200 characters, will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, such edits as quietly changing a number or date without any explanation [1] [2] are indistinguishable from vandalism and have to be reverted. Rafał Pocztarski 03:13, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Please start using edit summaries. Thank you. Rafał Pocztarski 03:38, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Categories

Hi, I noticed you've been adding Category:Dinosaurs to all the sauropods. Most of them are already in its subcategory, Category:Sauropods, and article belong in the most specific category that applies... see Wikipedia:Categorization for the general guidelines. But thanks for tossing the last couple of Sauropods in the right category :) 68.81.231.127 20:51, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)
