Thanks for getting back to me. The point is that Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your site, or any site. In general, most of the external links are to non-commercial websites, unless there is good reason to do otherwise. Putting a link to your website in forty different game-related articles is no different than spamming forums. If people want to buy old video games, they'll generally find the links by themselves, through Google, for instance. I appreciate your position, but mantain that a barage of links from any article related to old video games that goes to your commercial site exist only to improve traffic on that site. The links do not go to information or articles related to the games in question. You don't even appear to have articles on most of the games you linked from (or, at least, not found my typing in "Galaga", "Qix" or "Joust" in your search box. As I said before, if people want to buy a game, they'll look for it on Google or similar, and then probably come across your site, if, as you say, you are the industry leader.

Links to specific, informative articles on your site about specific games might, on the other hand, be a different matter. Obviously links would be relevant or not on a case-by-case basis. Wholesale links to your main page are not.

As I've said, this is my position. However, since you seem to be annoyed that you've spent your evening ading these links for nothing, I've asked the second opinion of an administrator and will gladly revert my changes if he thinks your links are valid. — Asbestos | Talk 10:55, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
