From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Please stop making destructive edits to articles. Your edits to Harland Sanders and Chef Boyardee appear to be spelling and grammar mistakes of a deliberate nature. Persisting in this will be construed as vandalism and will result in you being blocked from editing. Postdlf 22:39, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Why do you keep using the past tense for characters? The Nesquik Bunny is still in their commercials and Web site. —tregoweth 17:17, Oct 16, 2004 (UTC)
- I agree. Not only is your use of the past tense inaccurate, the articles are nearly useless. Anyone who knows enough to search for "Dig 'Em Frog" already knows the mascot is associated with Kellogg's Smacks. A quick Google search for "Chicken of the Sea" turned up the corporate website and more than enough information to create an article about the company beyond what any North American grocery shopper would encounter on a supermarket shelf. I have a personal credo not to "bite the newbie" as does the site itself, but you are creating a huge amount of work for others to clean up. While Wikipedia is not paper, nor are its resources infinite. I encourage you to leave any questions you may have on my talk page as well as the talk pages of any of the other regular users who have expressed concern here. Our goal is to help you. - Lucky 6.9 05:32, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Also:
- {{stub}} is the correct template to use for stubs, not {{msg:stub}}.
- It is preferred to title external links (Information at example.org) than showing both the title and link (Information at example.org - http://www.example.org/). See How to edit a page#Links and URLs —tregoweth 23:12, Oct 16, 2004 (UTC)
Some more suggestions:
- use the 'show preview' button. Your edits are often spread out over 5-10 saves.
- if someone edits something you wrote that you feel was correct, use the discussion pages to sort out differences, don't start a revert war.

[edit] Login
If you are going to do mass edits to articles (most of them seem to be cereals!!) could you consider logging in/getting a username? You see, it would make it much easier to monitor Special:Recentchanges/hideliu if you would be a logged in user so it would be possible to 'hide' you? Thanks, and please reply on my talk page --Gabriel Webber 07:17, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Stubs
Again, for articles that are stubs, use {{stub}}. Do not use {{msg:stub}}. Do not change {{stub}} back to {{msg:stub}}. See Wikipedia:Find or fix a stub#Stub alert! —tregoweth 21:43, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] You have been temporarily blocked from editing
I think everyone has tried to have some patience with you, but you have ignored repeated requests to alter your editing habits, and to stop undoing constructive edits. You have continually replaced unnecessary punctuation that other users have removed, you have continually replaced "msg" in the stub tag despite being told not to, and you have in general created a difficult mess for other users to clean up because you've scattered it across a series of several edits per minute. While you are blocked, please reread the comments on this talk page, and please do the following:
- Please log in with a username. It looks as if you have a dedicated IP, but for anyone that is going to make significant contributions to wikipedia, we please request that you register a unique username so that you can be identified here beyond just an anonymous address.
- Please use the "show preview" button when you are editing an article, rather than repeatedly making edits to an article. This unnecessarily clutters the edit history, and makes it more difficult for others to see what changes you have made. It makes it more likely for positive edits that you have made to be undone when we correct other mistakes.
- Please do not continually replace language, punctuation, etc., into articles that has been removed by other users without comment. If you do think something was removed in error, explain why in the edit summary box or on the article's talk page.
- Please do not ignore messages from other users on your talk page. You have persisted in certain behavior despite requests from several to refrain—this makes it hard for us to feel that you are making edits in good faith, particularly when you undo clear corrections that others have made. Perhaps english is not your first language, but that is all the more reason to pay attention to the comments and suggestions of others on here so that you can be made aware of when you have made a mistake. You are always free to disagree, of course, but doing so in silence is the wrong way to proceed.
Once again, this is only a temporary block. You clearly have certain interests that you wish to explore on here, and everyone would like to see you be a constructive member of the wikipedia community. But you have to make some effort to work with us on this, instead of proceeding in blatant disregard of all comments, requests and changes that others have made. Thanks! This user is the cartoon vandal, who absolutely refuses to discuss anything, keeps making the same vandalistic edits over and over again, and keeps getting blocked. RickK 06:20, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
