- This is a public school, if it's any help.
- I have placed a tag on the article Calder bethke, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I did this because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person but it does not indicate how or why that person is notable. If the person really is notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly to indicate why, and also put a note on Talk:Calder bethke. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. --User:AYArktos | Talk 20:24, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

As I have continually repeated here, this is a major public high school. People will do things and there is no real solution. Banning an entire high school would be a ridiculous choice and a great inhibitor of the Wikipedia ideals. Your messages are not being directed to the people you intend and are bothering those with good intent.
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- Psy guy (talk) 15:41, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
[edit] Blocked
This account has been temporarily blocked for repeat vandalism of articles. The block is time limited and will expire shortly.
Wikipedia apologies to those many genuine users who use this IP and who now find themselves blocked. It was a necessary short term act to stop an individual from constantly vandalising this site.
Further vandalism of this site using this IP number may lead to further blocks being required.
This is ridiculous. I am one of over 4,500 students at a public high school that uses the IP address 64.107.156.234. Do you really feel that because of a few students who are irresponsible it is necessary to prevent 4,500 from accessing Wikipedia from school?
Can you provide an example of vandalism by this IP address?
- For examples of vandalism by this IP address, just look at the "User contributions" link on the left of this page. Also look at the repeated warnings on this Talk page before the block went into effect. It's unfortunate that an entire high school has to be blocked to prevent this repeated vandalism; that sort of situation is one reason the block is only for a short time instead of being longer or permanent. Can you suggest a different way to prevent people at your school from vandalizing wikipedia? Wesley 16:21, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
-
- No, I can't, short of not allowing any anonymous users, which of course is out of the question. If some appropriate person would like to contact the school--though I can't see how that would really help much--it is New Trier High School. The main school website, with contact information, is http://www.newtrier.k12.il.us
-
-
- I also go to NTHS, and, if it's any help, if you want to edit an article, just sign up for a user ID. Then you are differentiated from the anonymous users who like to spam the Wiki. TechGeekXP

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Doc (?) 16:42, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
- An email regardign the vandal edits has been sent to several administrative addresses at New Trier High School. We'll see what response, if any, results. DES (talk) 17:05, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

- That won't help. The admins will probably just block Wikipedia from student access. Thus, we will not be able to access it at all for projects and classes. Techgeekxp

[edit] Can't edit when logged in
I have tried logging in with an account I created from home. It still will not permit me to edit from a blocked IP, even logged in. Other suggestions are welcome, but this is not an acceptable solution. 64.107.156.234 13:39, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked for vandalism - 4th block
RE: [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] (etc.) You have been blocked for 6 weeks for continuing to blatantly vandalise Wikipedia despite repeated requests not to. Please note that this is now your fourth block, [9] and any further acts of vandalism will consequently result in a significantly longer ban. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to resume editing after the block expires. Until then, you shall be able to read Wikipedia articles, but not write page changes. Should you have any questions regarding this restriction of editing privileges, please do not hesitate to have your school or district system administrator contact me directly. Best regards, Hall Monitor 17:47, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Solution is nonsensical
I don't understand the comments posted at the top of this page regarding this IP address' registration. Yes, the comments posted on this page directed at vandals are irrelevant to me, but I don't see how signing in solves that problem. I signed in under my own login and was still unable to perform edits. 64.107.156.234 13:05, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text, deliberate misinformation, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you believe you have been blocked unfairly, please add the text {{unblock}} to this page, along with an explanation of why you believe you were unfairly blocked. An administrator will review your case. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. --Syrthiss 19:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
