6.5 x 52 Mannlicher-Carcano

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

6.5×52mm Mannlicher-Carcano is a 6.807 mm (.268 cal.) rifle cartridge used in the Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. Ballistically, its performance is very similar to that of the 6.5x54 Mannlicher Schoenauer.

The calibre achieved some notoriety as having been the choice of Lee Harvey Oswald, who supposedly used a WWII Italian Carcano rifle in this chambering to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.

The 6.5x52 M-C is an effective and easy-to-shoot deer cartridge out to 200 yards, with properly-bulleted ammunition.
