Hello, 62.6.180.130, and welcome to Wikipedia!

My name is Will, a.k.a. Willscrlt, one of the many editors here at Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions, and I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links you might find helpful:

The five pillars of Wikipedia   Tutorial   How to edit a page
How to write a great article   Help pages   Manual of Style
Request "adoption" by an experienced editor   Fun stuff...

Some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a user name by clicking sign up. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. As a registered user, you gain the use of an appropriate username of your choice, a personal watchlist to which you can add articles that interest you, the ability to start new pages, and much more. Also, your IP address, 62.6.180.130, will no longer be visible to other users.
  • Talk pages, such as yours, which you are viewing now, are the way that Wikipedians communicate and leave messages or feedback for one another. All information placed on a talk page is publicly viewable, permanently archived, and usable by anyone for any purpose. It is a very bad idea to publish secure information or anything you wish to keep private on a talk page, or anywhere else in Wikipedia, because of the openness of the system.
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Another option is to visit the Wikipedia Boot Camp or the Adopt-a-User center, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any questions you have.

I'm looking forward to seeing your future contributions, 62.6.180.130!

Thank you for experimenting with the page After Eight on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
