From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Attention:

This IP address, 62.252.0.4, is registered to NTL glfd-cache-1.server.ntli.net and is shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking.

In the instance of vandalism, please report it to abuse@ntlworld.com, rather than blocking the IP. If there are any further instances of vandalism using this IP address, please email full details of the vandalism to the abuse address, or report it at http://www.ntlworld.com/netreport/.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

This IP address is used by a web cache used by NTL World and also Virgin.net customers in the United Kingdom. There may be other internet service providers also using the same web cache. It is likely these ISP customers have no choice which web cache their ISP forces them to use (achieved through transparent proxying).

[edit] Messages to users

Hi there -- the material you keep adding to racism, while imporoved, is still rather POV. Also, it seems better suited to the racial profiling article. I think it would be helpful if you discussed the changes on the article's talk page: Talk:Racism.

Also, anyone can edit here, of course, but there are advantages to creating an account if you want to contribute on a regular basis. If you want to join up, create an account and then introduce yourself to the community at the new user log.

You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

And once you have an account, you can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.

Thanks BCorr|Брайен 23:39, Apr 6, 2004 (UTC)

Please leave personal obervations and complaints on the talk page and not in the article space. --Jiang 06:47, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Don't start up with vandalisms OK? Thanks, Dori | Talk 18:22, Apr 29, 2004 (UTC)

Stop vandalizing articles. You have made deletions and graffiti in the articles you have edited. If this continues you will be blocked from editing on Wikipedia. - Tεxτurε 00:57, 18 May 2004 (UTC) This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page you will be blocked from editing. -- Grunt 14:43, 2004 Jun 23 (UTC)

Please don't create nonsense pages like Shamaon. Maximus Rex 19:58, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Your contributions to Alcohol are vandalism. Stop it. -- Chris 73 | Talk 22:39, 28 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] British Empire

As I and other users have tried to explain, your edits to British Empire were not helpful. North America as a whole was not part of the Empire at its height, so your addition is simply inaccurate. Please discuss this edit of yours before reinstating it; keep in mind our three revert rule as well. -- Hadal 02:55, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

You may not revert more than three times during a 24 hour period. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. ugen64 19:55, Sep 26, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Sandbox

Hello, 62.252.0.4, welcome to Wikipedia. I see you've been editing in the sandbox. That's great - the sandbox is an excellent area to practice your editing skills.

Although it is a practice area, edits in the sandbox must still conform to the good behaviour rules that apply to the rest of Wikipedia. That means no behaviour which is offensive or irritating to the majority of Wikipedia users. Also, the sandbox has a special header at the top {{sandbox}}, which is an important notice to new users. Please do not remove this line. Do feel free to edit anything else on the page, though!

By the way, this is your user talk page where any other Wikipedia user can leave you messages. Thanks,--Gabriel (please reply on my talkpage!!) 17:39, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Info on blockings

I have blocked this IP from editing due to repeated vandalism over many months. As this may not be a static IP (it's asscoiated with www.ntl.com) I have only blocked it temporarily. BCorr|Брайен 22:46, 28 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] User has been reported

The NTLWORLD user who vandalised Alcohol has been reported to abuse@ntlworld.com. If there are any further instances of vandalism using this IP address, please email full details of the vandalism to the abuse address, or report it at http://www.ntlworld.com/netreport/ User:Noisy

You signed ast Noisy but your edit was made from this IP (62.252.0.4). Can you please confirm your edit logged in as Noisy? - Tεxτurε 00:28, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Yep, it's me. Noisy 07:46, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Thanks. Now there is no doubt and admins can report the user instead of blocking the IP. - Tεxτurε 17:36, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

OK, I have unblocked this IP since it seems to be used by multiple people. But note that it's the history of edits that lead to it being banned, not just one thing on the 9-11 page. Evercat 23:49, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
