The 58th Infantry Brigade is the prime unit of the Maryland Army National Guard. It consists of an Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) format of two infantry battalions, one light cavalry squadron, and one towed artillery battalion of 16 105mm artillery pieces. It has recently seen overseas combat service in both the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters during the War on terror.
