55th Infantry Division (France)

The 55th Infantry Division was a French Army formation during World War II.

During the Battle of France in May 1940 the division contained the following units:

  • 213 Infantry Regiment,
  • 295 Infantry Regiment,
  • 331 Infantry Regiment,
  • 11 Machine Gun Battalion,
  • 64 Reconnaissance Battalion,
  • 45 Artillery Regiment

It was a Series B Reserve division containing older reservists.
