[edit] Division casualites in Iraq

Does somebody knows how many 4th Infantry Division soldiers were killed in Iraq ?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.161.27.52 (talkcontribs) 01:26, 19 September 2004.

[edit] Moved

THis was moved from the page:

I served with the 3Bn, 12th Infantry, 4th ID in Vietnam, `69-70, and served in the USAR until 1996. This is the first time in almost 40 years I have run across the 4th Infantry Division referred to as "Flower Power Fourth," which just sounds inventively hokey and juvenile. Unfortunately, that was a phrase that was occasioned by the Drug years in Nam, and - thankfully - has faded from memory - mostly.

I never heard it for the VERY short time I was attached to 4ID, but I'm talking a matter of days, so I wouldn't expect to. Swatjester 19:00, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Initial deployment to Vietnam

Are there any people here who were with the 4th when it first deployed to Vietnam? I heard from an ex-Marine that subsequently joined the Army (who was also in Vietnam at the time), said that when the 4th deployed to Vietnam, somebody in supply had screwed up big-time, as they arrived in country with nothing but blanks, and they had to stay in the rear for almost two months before they received their full supply of real ammo. A funny anecdote if true and verifiable, but of course THAT won't be recorded on any official Army site. :^) wbfergus 20:42, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2006 deployment to Iraq

Does anyone have good information from 2006 deployment to Iraq? I was there in 2005, so all I know is that 4th ID replaced 3rd ID in Baghdad. Parsecboy 02:03, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fires Brigade also include 1-21 FA?

I see on this page at Ft. Hood also lists the 1st Battalion, 21st Field Artillery as part of the Fires Brigade. Any reason it is not listed on the Units list here? --Petercorless 13:34, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

4th Infantry Division is currently going though some major re-orginzation. As soon as the units assigments are settled, I will update. 24.162.107.197 03:03, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
