1:48 scale

1:48 scale is popular among modelers both as diecast models and in plastic model kit form, with many manufacturers making scale models in this scale, typically of military vehicles and 0 scale model trains.
It is similar in size to 1:50 scale and 1:43 scale which are very popular for diecast vehicles.
In the United States, O scale is defined as 1:48 (0.25 inches to the foot, "quarter inch scale" 1/4 inch equals one foot).
