From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Forty-fifth United States Congress was a meeting of the United States national legislature, including the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It met in Washington, D.C. from March 4, 1877 to March 3, 1879. This Congress sat during the first two years of the administration of U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes and the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives was based on the Ninth Census of the United States in 1870.
