The 410th Bombardment Wing, Heavy (410 BW) was established and activated on 15 Nov 1962. It replaced the 4042d Strategic Wing on 1 Feb 1963. The wing conducted strategic bombardment training and air refueling operations on a global scale to meet SAC commitments. From 1964 to 1975, the wing supported combat operations in Southeast Asia with KC-135 and B-52 aircraft.
