3 Count Wrestling
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
3 Count Wrestling, Three Count Wrestling, or 3CW is an independent wrestling promotion based in the North East of England that originally opened its doors in early 2004 with its first show commencing soon after on Sunday March 14th in Dormanstown, Redcar. 3CW arguably had its first true success story with Darkest Deeds at the Billingham Synthonia six months later, which for the most part witnessed 3CW competitors going up against rivals from the Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA) climaxing with an epic battle between the 3CW Heavyweight Champion, ICE XVII and the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion, Conscience. Whilst the show was not 3CWs first sell out, the show took place in front of their biggest crowd at the time and has been equally successful on DVD.
Since its interception, 3CW has ran shows on a regular basis in the North East area (most notably Teesside to as far as Sunderland) and drawn a loyal fan base who are drawn to the American style approach of professional wrestling, hence the name of Three Count Wrestling. However, during its short history, 3CW has also provided all round family entertainment, hardcore and extreme style action, light heavyweight competition, good old traditional British wrestling and everything else in-between.
The company prides itself on having an exciting and consistent roster of up and comers. 3CW shows have also featured established British and major U.S. talents from the past and current era of professional wrestling. Familiar names such as Doug Williams (who became 3CW Heavyweight Champion at a 3CW Vs. FWA Academy show in March 2006), Mark Belton, Stevie Knight, Alex Shane, Jonny Storm, Ricky Knight and former WWF/E star Raven were just some of the established names that were somehow a part of 3CW in its first year. More recently weve seen the likes of Colt Cabana, Low-Ki and the Amazing Red doing their thing between 3CW ropes. Wrestlers from Pro Wrestling NOAH are said to be appearing at a future show.
The 3CW name is also synonymous with the 3CW Home Video series. 3CW's production team regards itself as being one of the most devoted in all of independent wrestling as its DVD releases feature top notch graphics, videos and other features that one would only expect to see from a general public release. 3CW Home Video has also helped with GPW (Garage Pro Wrestling), Wrestlestuff.com, BRAWL and RDW (Real Deal Wrestling) DVD releases.
3CW's main roster includes: ICE XVII (now known as Dragon Aisu), Stevie Lynn, Blake Norton (the last survivor of the famous Hart family dungeon), Darkside, the Kraze, Vegas Connection, Conscience and charismatic ring announcer, "Sweet" Stevie Aaron who has also done play by play on the Wrestling Channel.
