From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1702 and amalgamated into The Border Regiment in 1881.

The regiment was raised in East Anglia in February 1702, and disbanded in 1712, but reformed without loss of precedence in 1715. In 1751, they were numbered the 34th Regiment of Foot, and in 1782 took a county title as the 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot.
