3487 Edgeworth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the book Beyond Pluto by John Davies, which contains a list of asteroids named after people who contributed to the research of solar system objects beyond Pluto, the asteroid 3487 Edgeworth was named after Kenneth Essex Edgeworth (1880–1972), an Irish astronomer who first suggested the existence of what later became known as the Kuiper Belt.
