.bzh (dotBZH) is a proposed top-level domain for sites about the Breton culture and language. The campaign was initiated following the successful introduction of .cat for the Catalan-speaking community. The .cat domain is officially reserved for those websites which "highlight Catalan language and culture".
A big campaign was organized in Brittany to support the request of creation of the .BZH. There were in Dec. 2006 more than 12,000 signatories. The text of the petition is:
We, Breton net surfers, ask international organisations in charge of domain names extensions:
- the creation of the extension .bzh!
We, Breton Citizens, ask the Breton elected officials:
- to support the request of creation of the bzh!
