.500/450 Nitro Express

Based on the old blackpowder .500/450, the .500/450 Magnum Nitro Express was introduced by Holland & Holland for their single shot and double rifles during the late 1890s. It fires a .458" 480 grain projectile at over 2100 feet per second to generate in excess of 5000 lb·ft of muzzle energy.
