From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Boxing Kangaroo pen is a novelty writing implement that incorporates both a ball-point pen and an action figure that represents a boxing kangaroo. The pen represents the Australian national icon of the 'Boxing Kangaroo' and is a favourite amoungst overseas travellers to Australia, namely Japanese.

[edit] Description

The pen is in total 19.5 cms long, approximately 6.5 cms longer than the average ballpoint pen. Its top half is occupied entirely by the 'kangaroo' while the bottom half contains the ink, ballpoint, and lid. The kangaroo and lid are an off-beige or grey colour with the rest of the pen being transparent. It is manufactured out of plastic. But what makes this pen so special is its ability to 'punch'. There are two small buttons located on the rear of the pen which when pushed by the user move several levers inside the pen which in turn cause the boxing glove covered hands of the kangaroo to move outwards, or punch. This is of course incredibly amusing and the fun only increases when another Boxing Kangaroo Pen is thrown into the mix. Boxing matches can be held and can provide great entertainment for all involved. They are a favourite amongst lazy office workers.
