[edit] Phi Iota Alpha

Hi, 2much. You added Phi Iota Alpha to a list of honor and professional fraternities at RIT, but a look at the article on PhIA indicates to me that it's a social fraternity. Could you clarify? Powers T 16:09, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! Powers T 18:37, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I like the borders around the fraternity colors; it brings out the white color. I tried to do it several time before using the template {{border}}, but was unsuccessful in applying it here. Great job!!!--Ccson 15:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citing sources

I have provided the source in the Fraternities and sororities article that was requesting the citation for Alpha Phi Alpha. You may view the way I added the source to add the one for Phi Iota Alpha. I also added the footnotes template to PIA which will automatically number the footnotes once you begin inputting your sources within the article. I added the first footnote for the North-American Inter-fratenity Council text. You should also view these templates {{cite web}}, {{cite book}}, {{cite news}} which provides formatting rules and good examples for inputing the specific source fields. Let me know if you need further assistance. Ccson 04:21, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikilink tip

It's only necessary to wikilink a word only once in an article; so, if you provide a link in the beginning of article, and then use the word at any other point, you don't wikilink the word a second time. For example, in the Symbols section of the PIA article, the words "fasces", and the colors such as azure or or are wikified each time they are mentioned. You should edit the entire article and remove any duplicate, triplicate, etc. links to bring it up to wiki standards. Ccson 04:50, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

You are using the "special piped syntax" when an article has parentheses after the main title for the [Secretary of State (U.S. state government)]. By adding the "w:" before the article title, you no longer need to place the good title "Secretary of State" after the "|", that's the purpose of special pipe synax. the field [or (helraldry)] also qualifies and so I changed this to [[Or (heraldry)|]], which still yields Or. You can reveiw the edit to see and I'll let you make any other changes to the article.
the history section of PIA indicates you're making a lot "fixes to citation". You should use the Show Preview button before saving your changes to verify the accuracy. However; in order to see the changes, you must edit the entire article so that the Footnotes section shows. If you only edit the particular section, you will not be able to see the changes until you save, and that when you notice an error was made in the formatting.
also, what was the reference you had that Alpha Phi Alph was the first for African Americans? Ccson 15:05, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
