[edit] Mea Culpa

I am RemembertheAFL, and sorry, I do sometimes forget to log in when I edit pages. I will try to log in, in the future (after this time). I do not know "Dick Cheney", nor am I responsible for his opinions or posts.

Regarding Wikipedia "not endorsing sites", I note that most Wikipedia pages on NFL matters or NFL teams have links to the NFL website, which is a commercial site that sells things. Is that an endorsement of a site? If not, how is it any different in principal than a link to the [http:conigliofamily.com/AFL.htm AFL website], which has information, no ads, and sells nothing??

The difference is at least as far as we know the NFL does not go around adding links to itself to promote itself you do

[edit] Personal website links

Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia as we drive for print or DVD publication; see the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. --tomf688{talk} 03:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Angelo, as you can see, there are others still here on Wikipedia that disagree with you posting links on many different articles to your web site. Many of the concerns previously left on User talk:RemembertheAFL#Spamming are still valid.
As stated on Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia should not be used as a vehicle for self-promotion. But the problem is, since you are the owner of the Remember the AFL web site, you give the appearance of personally promoting your site. Because when you put a link to it on every single related article, it ends up giving your site higher rankings on the search engines. It really does not matter if your web site is free or not, you still look like you are self-promoting your work. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 06:34, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
