[edit] Stop vandalizing Wikipedia

[1]

Do not vandalize Wikipedia.

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you were just trying to experiment, then use the sandbox instead. Thank you.

{Please stop deliberately introducing incorrect information into articles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. ←Humus sapiens←ну? 00:20, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Andrzej Lepper, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 16:15, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copernicus

Please don't change the way his nationality is not mentioned in the lead section without consensus on the talk page. There has been an edit war over this for years, and the current version is the best compromise we could come up with. Kusma (討論) 14:38, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Marilyn Manson. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. HighInBC 03:19, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ayn Rand

It might not have been your intent, but you recently removed content from Ayn Rand. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. – Gurch 17:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barbara Boxer

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Barbara Boxer, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. --Nishkid64 14:19, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Since this "last warning", this user has repeated the same POV vandalism to Barbara Boxer three additional times, which has been reverted by other users. JimmB 11:24, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion deleted by Darwinek from his talk page, moved here:

[edit] Deleting discussion from Talk:Barbara_Boxer

NOTE: The following discussion was moved from User_talk:Darwinek because he
deleted it from his page, in violation of Wikipedia principles.

I am curious why you [Darwinek] have twice deleted the following text added by User:24.220.246.20 talk from Talk:Barbara_Boxer rather than addressing the question.

POV?
Exactly WHAT is POV about this? "Critics of Boxer's economic policies say that they would actually do more harm than good to the economy, citing the works of economists such as Ludwig von Mises and Milton Friedman which argue that the less the government interferes in the economy, the more prosperous and developed the economy becomes." I'm afraid to inform the writers of this article that just because they disagree with something doesn't mean that it is POV.
In addition, I am curious as to why someone deleted this comment.

The user has repeatedly added the same text to the article page (I agree with your reverting it), but wouldn't it be more productive to explain to him why it's POV and not allowed? (For example, that the same text could be put in any Democrat's article, and it doesn't address Boxer specifically but Democratic principles in general.) JimmB 23:55, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello I'm the one who added the comment. "Democratic" principles? No, that's not what I am criticizing. I consider Republicans to be just as anti-business as Democrats. I am just merely stating an observed fact, that many great economists of the twentieth century have argued for economic policies that exclude government interventionism. Why is this POV? What's wrong with including an argument against Boxer's amendments and bills which have routinely called for higher taxation, more regulation, etc? I am a libertarian, by the way. [unsigned comment by 24.220.246.20 04:30, 5 August 2006 (UTC)]

[edit] Barbara Boxer

Why do you keep removing my question on the talk page on the Barbara Boxer article? [unsigned comment by 24.220.246.20 04:27, 5 August 2006 (UTC)]

[edit] Request for administrator help

Dear 24.220.246.20:

We have several issues going on here:

  • First and most serious from the Wikipedia standpoint is that User:Darwinek has not addressed your questions as to why he deleted your additions to Barbara Boxer 3 times, and that he has deleted our discussion from his talk page and the Talk:Barbara_Boxer page. That is why I have moved the discussion here and placed a HELPME tag above so that an administrator will hopefully come look at this
  • Second, would you please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes as shown in the welcome message at the top of this page
  • Next, would you please set up an account and sign in so that you do not end up with a different IP address before we solve this. (Would you please put your new ID here and the admin can then hopefully move this TALK to that talk page. Thanks.)
  • Fourth, My question for you, which you have not answered, is why the addition you want to make to Barbara Boxer's page has any specific relevance to her. It seems to me you could attempt to put it on any politician's page that doesn't agree with your Libertarian principles (which would of course be inappropriate). I AGREE WITH Darwinek that your addition is inappropriate for Barbara Boxer's page, unless you can make it specific to her, but Darwinek needs to explain that rather than continually deleting your additions and the discussion thereof.
  • You are not off the hook here. You are on the verge of violating the Three-revert rule (you added the same text 4 times, but only reverted another editor 3 times), but I believe Darwinek has violated other rules by deleting material without an explanation, and deleting from talk pages.

HOPEFULLY AN ADMINISTRATOR WILL COMMENT BELOW AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION JimmB 17:09, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

The {{helpme}} template is for newcomers to get basic editing help. Please use the Administrators' noticeboard if you feel you require the attention of administrators. - Tangotango 17:27, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. I posted the following on WP:AN/I

Please see the discussion here
Summary:
  • user 24.220.246.20 added allegedly POV statement to Barbara Boxer 4 times on 2 Aug, and placed an inquiry on Talk:Barbara_Boxer asking why it was POV
  • Darwinek reverted it 3 times, without explaining why, and subsequently deleted the discussion from Talk:Barbara_Boxer
  • We moved the discussion to User_talk:Darwinek, and he proceeded to delete it from there, again without answering the question, or explaining why he deleted from the talk page.

Let me know if you want me to restore the deleted talk sections, or help in any other way. JimmB 18:02, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I have restored the discussion on User_talk:Darwinek, and warned him not to delete but to respond to your/our questions. JimmB 00:51, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Well I thank you. If it is so critical that that edit not be included, I can "back down." I completely forgot about the "3 revert" rule, for that I apologize, and I assure you that it was not my intention to vandalize or break any rules. Adam T. By the way I will get an account on Wikipedia.

[edit] Rand article

I did not include McVeigh; User:AOluwatoyin did. I have even added the Fact template next to it so that it can be deleted if it is not backed by a source. Next time, please check who made the edit.

Second of all, academia does not back the claim of Randists that she is a philosopher. I am not hijacking the article, I'm neutralizing it, which is something we are supposed to do as per WP:NPOV. -- LGagnon 21:21, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warning

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. -- LGagnon 04:28, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LaVey

My understanding is that that list is NOT restricted to philosophers. Talk:Ayn_Rand#Non-philosophers

And I did not mean to accuse you of vandalism. Rangek 18:31, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I suppose that if some people are that passionate about it, I could live with Anton LeVay's name in the article. Adam T.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning if you did not make any unconstructive edits. Shella ° 02:00, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
