[edit] Fine art
A user from this IP address has repeatedly been inserting a link to an advertising/promotional site into the article on Fine art. I have provided a rationale on that article's Talk page as to why this link does not seem to meet WP's guidelines on external links. It might be appropriate to respond to that rationale before the link is again inserted into the article, providing detail on how the site in fact may meet those guidelines, as well as confirmation that the user's repeated insertion of the link does not in any way represent conflict of interest. Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Fine art do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Veinor (talk to me) 02:18, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
