legitimate editors (including sysops) from Singapore will suffer from collateral damage!
Image:Info-pictogram.png Attention Admins:

This IP is shared by all users on MaxOnline, StarHub Cable Vision Ltd, i.e. over 300,000 people are using this ISP, it being Singapore's largest broadband ISP. Please consider this before you block! There are vandals using this ISP as can be seen on this talk page, but also many legitimate and registered users that WILL be blocked if you block this IP fully. Please be considerate and only block for repeated and ongoing vandalism, and please ensure to block anonymous users only.

This IP has more users than each AOL IP, and each user uses each IP only once per page view; this is a shared proxy/filter/block censoring some sites for Singaporean users.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "shared IP of Starhub ISP subscribers"

Decline reason: "I'm sorry, but there's just too many vandals sharing the same ISP with you. Please create an account for yourself either using a computer on a different network or when the current block expires to avoid being affected by this block on anonymous editing. --  Netsnipe  ►  13:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)"

This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.

Thank you for the review. After much research I've found that StubHub uses a transparent proxy due to censorship regulations of the Singapore Government. For more information, please see:

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reasons:

I have unblocked this IP, as it has been blocked for two weeks already, but I would strongly suggest that you try to create an account to avoid these in the future.

Request handled by: Konst.ableTalk 12:47, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Because of the nature of Singaporean ISPs, you are sent through a massively shared IP proxy system. The block is set up so that you can edit if you register for an account. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
  • As Ryūlóng pointed out, creating an account will solve that problem for you. It is free and no personal information is required. There are also several other benefits to creating an account. If you decide to create an account, leave me a note on my talk page so I can welcome you properly. Happy editing! SWAdair 09:51, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I am amazed you guys are able to reply literally instantly! I faced 2 problems trying to create an account. 1) Practically every single username I can think of has been taken, I had to cook up some gibberish which isn't very helpful to remember and 2) I was presented the follow message: "Visitors to Wikipedia using your IP address have created 6 accounts in the last 24 hours, which is the maximum allowed in this time period. As a result, visitors using this IP address cannot create any more accounts at the moment." I'll keep trying and thank you for your advice.
  • You're welcome. You'll find that Wikipedia is a very busy place, and there are literally hundreds of people online at any time willing to help. I remember the help others gave me when I was new, and since that is a debt that I can't pay back, I'm happy to pay it forward. Please do keep trying until you get your account created, and welcome to Wikipedia. SWAdair 10:10, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello. Before making potentially controversial edits, such as those you made to Soggy biscuit, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Otherwise, people might consider your edits to be vandalism. Thank you. - Gilliam 14:42, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

This is a message from a human editor, to confirm that this was most surely a case of serious vandalism. The entire contents of the page were removed, and replaced with the following, repeated 25 times:

218.186.9.1 11:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)== WUT A FUCKING BLACK BABOON ==

This IP stands at risk of some measure of blocking if this sort of vandalism is allowed to continue. Please take this warning seriously. Cgingold 12:19, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, welcome, and I hope that you will like Wikipedia. Dar-Ape 01:56, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
