[edit] Responded to you on Wilcox-McCandlish law
Liked your quasi-corollary so much I made it "official", but I guess I can't credit you; reading below I see that you're being intentionally anonymous. Ah well. -- SMcCandlish 04:50, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sources for Tipping fee
Hello, good work on Tipping fee, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. What websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Tipping fee? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? Thank you very much. - SimonP 05:01, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
- Needs a further edit to say either "US$" and "CA$", or "US$" in both cases, whichever is correct. The former is kinda implied, but its unusual to mix two currencies in the same sentence like that, so it really is ambiguous. -- SMcCandlish 04:56, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Requested user page
I've requested my own user page to be created (doesn't that sound redundant?) with the following content:
Let's see if they don't get all bureau on me. User:216.237.179.238 01:45, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- That's amusing, but unfortuntaely, it's not your userpage. Anyone who comes along with your IP address will 'own' it too. Which leads to the suggestion that you log in with an account! Go on, it's easy. Click the link in the top right, and you can be done in seconds, no email address needed. -Splashtalk 02:01, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, being anonymous is entirely up to you. (I don't understand what you mean by a false presumption of 'anyone' — there's unlikely to be anything restricting the IP address to you and you alone for all time.) One of the downsides to editing as an IP address is that you don't get a a userpage to call your own. Sorry. -Splashtalk 02:07, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 27J/6 completed and approved
And User:Titoxd has created the page. Shame that it had to go through the wormhole a bit. But that's the NWO (New Wikipedia Order) for you. 216.237.179.238 02:47, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] an admin revert-war on a user page?!
Someone's gone and reverted my user page. 216.237.179.238 02:50, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- Page recreated. I apologize for the administrative inconsistency; we are all new to these new rules. -- SCZenz 03:01, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- Stuff happens. Maybe I'll be a good boy and become the first Anonymous Admin. 216.237.179.238 03:07, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm anonymous! w0000t
[edit] Ok, enough
Ok, this[1] is going over the line. I would have reverted it if I hadn't been beaten to it. Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 03:40, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanx!
Thanx for the return-gift :D! I've also made note of it on my page dealing with these "civil liberties" restrictions. 68.39.174.238 21:47, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- PS. Shouldn't the template on the page say "in the English Wikipedia" ? 68.39.174.238 00:46, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Possible solution
I can understand your desire to maintain anonymity. However, I'm not sure if your use of an IP address is the best way to do so. How about creating a user name that closely resembles it? Maybe User:216.237.x.x? That way, you can create pages and contribute to areas that require registration. Firebug 02:06, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry for butting in here, but just wondering - at the moment, everyone knows your IP address. From this, they can work out your ISP/employer and possibly your location. If you registered, no-one would know your IP address. Wouldn't registering make you MORE anonymous? -- Chuq 07:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
