Attention:

This IP address, 216.231.162.9, is registered to Mebtel Communications and may be shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

However, you might still be unable to edit Wikipedia if the IP you are using is blocked due to a MediaWiki "feature". In such a case you could request to be unblocked.

In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts will be made to contact Mebtel Communications to report network abuse.

[edit] Bogus biographies

Hello Wikipedia Admins, my name is Brad. Me and many of my friends recently attempted to pull a large scale "bogus biography" stunt. We, of course, failed in doing this due to the promptness of the counter-vandalism team here. We thought it was funny at the time. However, I recently realized how much I could contribute to Wikipedia, and was deeply saddened by the editing block placed on my IP. I can account for many of the cases of vandalism by this IP (mainly the Richard Carney, Larry Fish, and Derny Bullard articles). However, I must emphasize that there are certainly one or more vandals operating though this IP that have no connection to myself. It would please me very much if you would lift this block if only for a trial period, so I may contribute constructively to Wikipedia. --Bradley Bittinger Jr.

This IP address has been blocked temporarily.CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address is being used abusively;the address has been blocked to prevent further abuse.
Unfortunately, the damage being done is too serious for an unblock. The block will expire in a month; why not come back then, and stop vandalizing? Mangojuicetalk 05:25, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay, that's cool. I was under the impression that this was a permanent block. Thanks.

This user's request to have the autoblock on their IP address lifted has been DECLINED.

vandalism

You were blocked directly, and not autoblocked. As stated when you added this template to your talk page (see here), you are using the wrong template and therefore your case for unblock will not be reviewed fully since you have not provided a reason for unblocking. Please use {{unblock|your reason here}} instead. Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 06:47, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Note: declined unblock requests may only be removed after two days or when the block has expired.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined' this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "I did not vandalize anything from this computer, you have the wrong guy."

Decline reason: "You very likely didn't, but someone else who shares your internet connection did, repeatedly. Unfortunately, we've had to put this block in place to protect our encyclopedia. I do have some good news for you, however: if you can find another web connection and register an account (say, from home, school, your local library, wherever), then you'll be able to edit over this block while logged in. So please don't let the unfortunate actions of a few bad apples hold you back from everything Wikipedia has to offer -- registering is free, easy, quick, and will let you edit freely and hopefully avoid collateral damage such as this in the future. Thanks for your time. -- Luna Santin 08:28, 12 November 2006 (UTC)"

This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.

[edit] NOTICE: Shared IP Address

Today I visited my mother's home, only to find out that her IP's talk page had many warnings. Because she is computer illiterate, I am positive that this IP must be shared by many users in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area. Thankfully, I have a login account, so banning this IP will not affect me, but please keep in mind when blocking this IP in the future that it is shared by many, many users. — Eric Herboso 04:30, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
