Your edit to Tropical cyclone could have been a newbie test, but I don't thinks so. You chose an article that isn't usually a vandalism target, and put an error into it that was almost unspotable. ALMOST. There is a page that shows recent changes, which means that users don't have to look at the articles, and since there are 1,713,644 articles this wouldn't work, they just have to look at a list of recent changes.
