From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This IP has been repeatedly blocked from editing Wikipedia in response to abuse of editing privileges. Further abuse from this IP may result in an immediate block without further warning.

Attention:

This IP address, 209.122.160.124, is registered to Lexington High School and may be shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

However, you might still be unable to edit Wikipedia if the IP you are using is blocked due to a MediaWiki "feature". In such a case you could request to be unblocked.

In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts will be made to contact Lexington High School to report network abuse.

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has now been removed. Please use Wikipedia:Sandbox for any other tests you want to do, since testing material in articles will normally be removed quickly. Please see the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing here. Thanks. Dori | Talk 18:33, Jan 6, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Covalent bond revert

Hi,

I removed your edit "Note: this image is incorrect." from the covalent bond article, because the sentence doesn't shed any additional light on the subject. Also it isn't in the caption of any particular image, so it's not clear which image you're referring to. Currently the line shows up near an image showing "Electron Dot Notation", though I think you were referring to the diagram at the top of the article.

If the image is incorrect, you've got several options that would be greatly appreciated:

  • Create a new image that is correct, and substitute it for the old image.
  • Write a sentence or two in the article mentioning that the image is incorrect, and why. The sentence probably belongs in the caption of the image rather than in the 4th paragraph of the article.
  • Less formally, click the "discussion" tab and discuss how the image is incorrect.

Thanks. Tempshill 20:44, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I apologize everyone for the overwhelming majority of idiots at this school. I was sitting next to a kid who vandalized the MLK entry and was ready to revert back to the older version, but somebody online caught it and edited back virtually immediately. Nice work guys!

There are definitely intelligent people at this school with valid things to add to wiki articles... but I agree with the ban. Students can do it on their personal time.

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Azerbaijan. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers.
