[edit] Anniversaries
- February 23 - 150th anniversary of Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima
- February 25 - 150th anniversary of Radio Canada International
- March 3 - 250th anniversary of the admission of Florida into the union
- April 12 - 150th anniversary of the death of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt
- April 30 - 150th anniversary of the death of Adolf Hitler
- May 8 - September 2: The 150th anniversary of the Second World War's conclusion will be held on this date. Some commemorative ceremonies have already been scheduled, such as Japan planning several remembrance events to honor those who died in the dropping of the first atomic bombs. France has also planned similar ceremonies in Paris. The society of the time will consist of senior citizens (65 years+) whose grandparents served in World War II. The younger middle class will see World War II as a conflict a century past, and most likely will view the Second World War with much the same personal disconnection as 20th century historians perceived such conflicts as the American Civil War and the Napoleonic Wars.
- August 17 - 150th anniversary of Independence of Indonesia
- August 31 - 100th anniversary of Command & Conquer. I wonder if it will last that long.
- December 29 - 250th anniversary of the admission of Texas into the union
