Please don't add categories to articles that already belong to subcategories. The result is mere redundancy. An article tagged with Category:Romantic composers is already included as a subcategory of Category:Classical composers, which is in Category:Composers. Thanks! Postdlf 21:13, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Looks like someone's been busy today! Could you please fill in the edit summary box when you make an edit? It makes it much easier for other editors to track what's going on with an article. Thanks! PRIIS 23:14, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Hi. In order for you to avoid wasting your time posting single sentences that will be deleted for lack of content, may I please turn your attention to Wikipedia:Manual of style? Also, please consider creating an account. It's fun, it's free and there are a lot of writers here who'll be glad to help, myself included. Take care. - Lucky 6.9 21:11, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Look, two sentences about the person's birthday and place of birth isn't an article. PLEASE take a look at the manual of style. - Lucky 6.9 00:05, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Please. Your contributions are welcome, but they simply are not long enough to warrant inclusion. If you're going to write about singers, conductors and the like, it is imperative that you add more "meat" than just his/her birthday. Also, please contact me via my talk page if you have any questions. Again, I am glad to help. - Lucky 6.9 17:26, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
OK, let's try this one more time. :^) Your contributions are welcome. They do not constitute encyclopedia articles and may be bordering on vandalism. Please contact me via my talk page. Just click on my user name and I'll be glad to answer any further questions. OK? Thanks. - Lucky 6.9 21:48, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hi 207.141.19.46. Thanks for your contributions to articles on composers and performers. Please note that ndash, not mdash, is the Wikipedia standard for dates—the mdash is used for grammatical dashes such as the one in this comment. There are several other editors who are replacing the numerous hyphens with ndashes, and you are undoing their work, so I just thought I'd alert you to that. Best regards, Antandrus 16:43, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hi, please don't add categories to articles if they already belong to a subcategory of it. For example, Chinese language is already in category:Chinese language, which is in category:Sino-Tibetan languages, so you don't need to add the article to category:Sino-Tibetan languages again. Thanks! -- [[User:Ran|ran (talk)]] 18:10, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC) Hi, please read the manual of style and stop adding categor... oh, who am I kidding. This is beginning to become frustrating. It feels a little harsh to report this as vandalism, but this guy just doesn't seem to care. – Pladask 16:32, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summary
Dear contributor, first I would like to say a big thank you for your time, care, and enthusiasm in editing Wikipedia articles. I hope you find it just as much fun as I do.
I am writing with a small suggestion. I wonder if you could write an edit summary every time you make changes to an article (or when you start a new one). Even a short summary helps. To see how often you have done so in the past, you may go to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=207.141.19.46.
Edit summaries are important for a number of reasons. Every time you change an article, a record of that change propagates to every single person who has that article on their watchlist. Most people have an article on their watchlist because they care a lot about it, so they would like to be informed about what is going on with it. Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change. This is why your edit summary, which will take you maybe 15 seconds, is a time-saver and a great act of candor to the other people interested in the same article as you. Accurate edit summaries are important because they create trust regarding your contributions and help resolve disputes.
There are other, very convincing reasons for putting an edit summary. More information is available at Wikipedia:Edit summary. If at any point you have any questions about this rule (or anything else for that matter), please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you and happy editing! – flamurai (t) 18:37, Feb 17, 2005 (UTC)

- Again, please stop changing categories when the categories have already been subcategorized. Write edit summaries. Please. --BaronLarf 16:01, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Supervandal
This user is gross vandal with hundreths of edits. Please someone with enough of time and stamine: do cleanup after the guy. I reported him on ViP so hopefully someone will wake up. Pavel Vozenilek 19:15, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
In my opinion, the poster above is being a ninnyhammer. I, for one, appreciate what you're doing on the date pages. --Calton | Talk 00:10, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
Not at all Calton; I've just discovered an edit by this anon user on the John Partridge (astrologer) page from 7th Apr 2005 where a minimal but correct entry was spuriously altered and an incorrect date of death entered (the date concerned has only ever been mentioned in connection with a well-known historical hoax, so it must have been a deliberate attempt to mislead by anon). [edit] Blocked for 12 hours
Hello, this to inform you that you have been blocked for 12 hours. It saddens me to be forced to take such a drastic measure to get your attention; most of your numerous contributions to Wikipedia are undoubtedly great, but this is a collaborative project. We have to cope with a lot of vandalism, and people have to look through hundreds of edits every day to check them for vandalism. It would be very helpful if you could start cooperating with other users: I suggest you register an account, and start using edit summaries to clarify the object of each of your edits, as well as reply to users who use your talk page. If you use an automated script ("bot") to make some of your edits, please make this clear on your talk page or via edit summaries. Note that I will unblock you as soon as you demonstrate you have read this and are ready to respond to our concerns. You may also contact any other administrator. Cheers. Phils 08:54, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
- I've unblocked you. Looking back, blocking you was rather inconsiderate. Please fill in edit summaries and reply to message on your talk page, though. I apologize for any inconvenience. Phils 21:59, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
