I understand about commercial links, but why am I not allowed to post an article, such as the one about Annie Duke and Howard Lederer, when other posters, like the Columbia College post, can put up articles about her? If I didn't write the name of the magazine, would it be allowed? Did you even go to the link to see how relevant and in-depth the article about their family is?

After you spammed endless articles inappropriately you expect people to look at every link to find the ones that may be appropriate? Create an account, contribute to the encylopedia, or don't. But a huge volume of promotional spam will just be removed. 2005 20:20, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

What are you talking about? First of all, it's not spam, and you moderators obviously do not actually click on the link you are about to erase to see what kind of content is being linked. And if you mean other users, no I don't expect them to look at every link, if someone looks up one poker player, I think it is absolutely useful for them to look at an interview my magazine conducted with the poker player of their interest, or an article that the poker player actually wrote for my magazine. Just because we have a lot of content and have valuable interviews with a lot of poker players doesn't mean that we shouldn't be able to link interviews for a number of players.

We are talking about what you did. First of all it is the definition of spam according to the wikipedia... "Adding many links to (or mentions of) the same site or product." Wikipedia:Spam You added a lot of links to one magazine and specifically one trivial article that were totally ludicrous, were a person was briefly quoted. Once you blatantly spammed this way whatever else you did is likely just to be removed because you have demonstrated untrustability. Next, "my magazine" and "we shouldn't be able to link" both are dealt with in the spam article referenced. Wikipedia isn't here for you to promote your magazine. Contribute to the encylopedia. Your magazine has a lot of links in the encyclopedia. Spamming a bunch of trivial ones was a bad idea on many levels. 2005 18:38, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
