Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia! Your test worked and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. If you'd like to make many contributions to Wikipedia articles and become a valued editor, there are many advantages to creating an account. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start.
Again, thanks, and it is our hope you that will like the place and decide to stay! --Kevin 04:13, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. ➨ ❝REDVERS❞ 17:17, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
