[edit] Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  05:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

[edit] Edit summaries

Hey, would you mind doing some edit summaries, particularly to your edits to Mosque? The article is today's featured article, and is being watched closely by many people from vandalism. Unfortunately, a lot of vandalism comes from unregistered IPs, so it's helpful to do edit summaries so we know what you are doing and that it's not vandalism when we glance at our watchlists. Thanks. And thank you also for your work on the article.--Kchase T 05:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Looking again, you seem to be removing whole sections of the article. Please don't do that. It is being interpretted as vandalism. I'd suggest that further changes be discussed on the article's talk page.--Kchase T 05:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mosque

Please discuss all major changes to the article on its talk page Talk:Mosque before making them. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  05:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you blank a section without an edit summary or discussion on the article's talk page, as you did to Mosque, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  05:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. RyanGerbil10(The people rejoice!) 06:04, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
