[edit] Creating an account

Hi! I see you've been making good, constructive edits at Wikipedia. Let me suggest that you consider creating an account, or at least get in the habit of using the "Edit summary" box when you do an edit. You don't need to put much there-- "copyedit", "sp", "grammar", "typo", "revert vandalism" (usually abbreviated as "rv vandalism")-- although you can write quite a lengthy explanation if you want to.

Here's why. As you've probably noticed, there's quite a bit of vandalism on Wikipedia. When folks go looking for vandalism to clean up, the most likely edits are those made by an anonymous editor (one without an account) and with no Edit summary filled in.

So please consider doing one or the other, or better still, both (but above all, keep up the good work!). If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

If you have material that you do not wish for others to edit, or that is otherwise inappropriate for Wikipedia, it should be placed on a personal web site. Many free and low-cost web hosting, email, and weblog services are widely available, and are a good alternative for content unrelated to Wikipedia.
