[edit] Gang involvement

2-G joined the Stoop Side gang at the young age of 15, being jumped in by two senior members. He quickly became involved in the gangs drug cartel and began running narcotics for the gang. This is how he earned his nick name "2-G" which is short for two-gram. He dropped out of high school at the age of 16 and became a full-fledged member of the gang. He often participated in gang related activities and was arrested several times throughout his youth.

[edit] Zeppettella Murder

On the afternoon of June 13, in the City of Oceanside, Camacho was delivering a car stolen by fellow gang member "Fat" Chris Ochoa to a South Orange County chop shop. He was pulled over by Officer Tony Zepetella.1

Twenty-seven year old Tony Zeppetella, who had been with the Department just thirteen months was shot and mortally wounded by Camacho following the stop.

After wounding the officer several times, Camacho left the scene in the officers’ police vehicle, abandoning it near a relative’s residence, where he forced entry and took refuge.

More than 50 law enforcement units from surrounding jurisdictions, including helicopters and the California Highway Patrol, converged on the scene. His place of refuge surrounded, Camacho surrendered after a four-hour standoff. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg, apparently the result of gunfire returned at the scene by Zeppetella.2

Camacho was booked into the Vista Detention Facility and charged with the murder of a peace officer.
