Here is an important point: US Armies NEVER have Organic elements. Therefore, a division can never be said to be "part" of an Army. Divisions can be "Assigned" to an Army. Likewise,k with Corps. Again, Division can be "Assigned" to Corps. Armies and Corps are ONLY a Headquarters and Headquarters Company, a Corps Artillery Command, and and a Corps Support Command.
