Soldiers of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (the "Old Guard") are shown on maneuvers in the summer of 1942 as part of the defense of St Johns, Newfoundland. The Jeep is mounted with a small-caliber cannon (probably a 37mm anti-tank cannon) and a Browning M1917A1 machine gun.
