Thank you for your contributions to the Missouri article. I removed the information you added to the introductory paragraph[1] because it does not fit the purpose of that paragraph. Further, the information that Missouri was a slave state is discussed briefly in the History section and in depth in the History of Missouri article, as is its involvement in the Civil War. The question of whether it is a Midwestern or Southern state was discussed at lenth on the article's talk page, and the consensus has been reached that the current description is correct.
